Move and Copy a VM

Overview

You can move a VM from another vApp, or from one VDC to another.

1. VMs can be Copied/Moved while they are Powered On.
2. vApps can be Copied while they are Powered On.
3. vApps can be Moved while they are Powered Off.

The Move or Copy can be made to an existing vApp that contains VMs already started.

Please note!
When you Move/Copy vApps that include VM with user snapshots, the snapshots are lost.

Prerequisites

• VM Access

Move or Copy a VM

From Data Centers/Virtual Machines, you can Move Copy
Select Destination vApp Click on NEXT.
Configure Resources : VM Storage Policy vNics (VMXNET3 recommended) Tick Connected. Click on NEXT.
CLick on the Button DONE to finalize.
